I wondered if anyone has come across the christening of a Robert Hucker Chubb born approx. 1821 near Exeter, Devon. I think his parents were Philip Chubb & Mary Hucker who were married in Bickleigh near Exeter on 17 Sep 1821.
Many thanks

I've kind of hit a brick wall as far as this person is concerned. I know that she was married to my G Grandfather Frederick G Hallett. They were married in Beaminster 1931, she was born there in 1910.
I found her on the site but it didn't have any details about her mothers maiden name so I haven't been able to progress with it.
I'm currently unemployed so cannot afford to pay for full access to the site. If anyone has any information could you e-mail me at emandjack(a)blueyonder.co.uk

In 1851 Census Robert H Chubb is living at Batheaston, is Unmarried and a Lodger - he is working as a maltster.
I would be please to learn the place and date of his marriage. I do not have this nor any information about his wife. I have all the census records 1861 on for the family and have been to see the house at City Road, Bristol. My great great grandfather George lived a short walk away. His wife is thought to be related to Mungo Park but I have yet to prove it.

Many thanks for replying.
Could you tell me whether Robert Hayter Chubb b 1813 was a bachelor when he married Mary Fitz Davis in 1851? I thought as there was a 19 year age difference he may have been married before.
Many thanks
Liz

Looking for information on Chubbs in India especially relating to the Assam-Bengal Railway approx 1900 - 1920.
Probably living in Chittagong, Calcutta or Bombay.
e.g. Claude Hampton Chubb, Railway Engineer.

Robert Hayter Chubb b Teffont Magna 1812 or 1813 has a son Robert Hayter Chubb, born Box, Wiltshire, aged 9 in 1861 Census. They are in Box, Wiltshire in 1861.
The younger Robert is not with the family in the 1871 or 1881 censuses. In 1891 he is living with some of his brothers and sisters at 87 City Road, Bristol, is single, aged 39 and is a Commercial Traveller.
I think this is not your Robert Elphick Chubb but I am happy to share any other Chubb information with you - Teffont, Salisbury, Bath, Bristol, Box.
Pam

I have researched Robert Hayter Chubb and his descendants fairly extensively. He is the older brother of my great great grandfather George Chubb. I have followed the lives and descendants of the Chubb brothers and sisters born in the Malt House in Teffont Magna. Will get in touch with more information.
