Anthony: We have probably been in touch before. I am looking for any information about John Chubb who married 8 Sep 1850: John Chubb, aged 24, bachelor, silk weaver, son of John Chubb, a silk weaver residing at No. 24 Wilks Street and Hannah Glassop, age 21, spinster, residing at No. 8 Wilks Street, daughter of Charles Glassop, Comb Maker. They would be my gg grandparents.
I am primarily interested in the origins of this branch of the Chubbs.
I haven't been able to crack the east end of London's Chubbs at all - neither this John or his father - or the origins of this Chubb branch. We know John Chubb (Jr.) passed away in 1879 leaving his wife and at least two sons, Alfred (age 17) and Ernest (age 8).
More importantly

I'm trying to locate information for Mary Chubb who lived in Chester County, Pennsylvania at the time of World War II and served in the war for the US at that time. She died in the UK unrelated to the war. Any information would be helpful, we are trying to include her on our memorial website. Thank you.

I have a Sarah Chubb b. abt 1838, pob Ohio, listed in 1850 Michigan census Ottawa Co, Chester. Head of household (probably father) is Uriah Chubb, 42, NY. Sarah again in 1860 Michigan, Kent, Tyrone Twp. census still living with Uriah, shows her age as 22 (b. abt 1838). She is listed as deaf and dumb in 1850 census, no such listing in 1860, although her brother Sammuel (b. abt. 1831) pob NY., is listed as deaf and dumb in both census. Sarah falls off my radar after 1860. I have info on Michigan Chubb's, many came from NY. Trying to make the NY link.
Hope this helps.
