I'm still trying to find the parents of Joel CHUBB, b. 1808 in New York,
m. Sarah (Sally) Dyer in Ohio in 1832; d. probably in Winnebago, IL
about 1860.
I think his parents are Alexander CHUBB and Mindwell WHEELER.
I found a bunch of Chubbs in Gaines, Orleans Co., New York including a
Stephen N. Chubb buried in the Eagle Harbor Cemetery in 1871. He was the
husband of Malona. Does any one know if he is the son of Alexander
Chubb? I know Alexander had a son named Stephen and my source gave him a
birthdate of 1786. The tombstone in Gaines, NY gives a birthdate of
1787. (Pretty close.)
Other Chubbs I found in Gaines include Chester 1819-1836; Susan b. about
1835; Arba, wife Sally and children, Edwin, elizabeth and Albert. Also a
second wife for Arba, Emily Frisbie. There was a Henry CHUBB in the
Ridgeway, Orleans, NY working as a Clerk for the Newell family.

David Chubb b. July 4, 1789
Polly Chubb b. Nov 10, 1793
John Chubb b. July 15, 1795
Newman Chubb b. June 11, 1797
David and Mary Chubb children were all born in Canvendish, Windsor, VT.
Roswell later migrated to New York.
Looking for the descendants of David Chubb and his children.

My Joel CHUBB, b. 1 August 1808 in NY; d. abt 1860 in Rockford, Winnebago,
IL (can't find a death record or gravestone) m. Sarah (Sally) Ann DYER
18 Nov. 1821 in Geouga, Ohio (she was b. 25 Nov 1808 in NY and d. 30 June
1893 in Baxter Springs, Cherokee, KS)
I am looking for the parents of Joel CHUBB. I believe his grandparents
were Alexander CHUBB of Pittsford, Ontario,NY and his wife Mindwell WHEELER.
His parents may have been Alexander's son, Harvey and his wife Caroline.
The only other Chubb in the 1810 census with a male under age 10, was Gideon
CHUBB of Columbia Co. His family doesn't fit as well as Alexander's. (Joel
had a son named James Harvey; Sally or Sarah DYER's father was James. Also
Alexander had a daugher named Claret and so did Joel. There was also a
son named Horace Wheeler (for Mindwell Wheeler?).
