I WAS thinking of Adam Chrysler's line; however I think I can answer one question for you. You asked about the parents of James Henry Chrysler who married Sarah Addley (I do have 6 daughters and 5 sons for them). Last spring I received a supported tree that led me to believe that James Henry's parents were Mathias Chrysler(b. 1796 in Ancaster) & Mary Mott. Mathias' parents were Matthous Greisler (b. 1772 in Schoharie, NY) & Catherine Sharp.
I haven't dealt at all with the Native American side of the family so your description is exciting to me.
I hope I have helped a bit in your research. I would be delighted if you could tell me how you are related to the Chryslers. If interested in sharing, please email me.

Very kind of you to offer,
Who was the Ann Eliza Groat that married John Crysler, son of Adam who was hanged in 1814, grandson of the Balthus executed in Scoharie?
I am guessing John and Eliza's son, James Crylser born 1840, to also be the James Chrysler, who was great grandson of a Nelson township, NC - Davis Ghent connected - african-American slave or servant, named Michael Groat.
The only probable mother, ie only available Chrysler male Groat female marriage is John Chrysler and Ann Eliza Groat. James Chrylser was named in a will of Michael Groat, Nelson township in 1846. Neither Michael's daughter or his wife's names are known.
Also, who was the father of James Crysler who married Sarah Addley and made all those Crylser daughters and that son and grandson for the native-black Groat Mikes to marry in Brant and Haldimand?
There is of course, a high probability that were are dealing Crylser slave into servant free blacks (mixed-blood - even offspring) who seep into the larger community with last names relative to the gradualist freeing of Canadian-born slaves at the age of 25 and relative to the support requirements for slave owners wanting to manumit slaves under Simcoe's 1793 anti-slavery act, creating supported African bloodlines for newly freed blacks who took the Crylser name, a slow process of new Crylser lines until 1834 when the Emancipation Act threw even more newly last-named individuals into the mix , and with the Groats tied into pre-revolutionary war North Carolina mixed Tuscarora lines already, the Upper Canadian intermingling of Six Nations/Mississauga, and white lines like the Cryslers, created what are now being called triracial isolates by those trying to figure out who was native, slave, free and white in about 200 distinct clan-tribe-peoples, most of whom are in the old 13!
colony lands.
So if you have unraveled Crylsers and their African offspring/manumitted, then I would be blessed indeed by your untangling.
Jerry
