Hello,
I believe I may have a connection to the John Pliny Chrysler of Chrysler Farm in Ontario, Canada.
My ancestor was a Charlotte A. Chrysler/Crysler. She was born about 1821 in Ontario and died 1904 in Frontenac Co., Ontario. She married a Daniel ORMSBEE. They had 9 children and lived at one point around Battersea.
The names of the 9 children were as follows:
-Mary Jane
-Eliza Margaret
-Daniel George
-Sarah Sophia
-Helen Bertha
-Charles Herbert
-Charlotte Esther
-William Henry
-Clarissa Arletta
I have noticed that there was a daughter/granddaughter of John Pliny who was called Clarissa Chrysler. I find it too much of a coincidence that my Charlotte would name one of her daughter's "Clarissa" too. It can't have been a very common name at that time. Or maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part!
Also, I've been told that my grandfather (great-grandson of Charlotte) donated some of his families heirlooms to the museum on/at Chrysler Farm in Morrisburg. My grandfather had grown up believing that he was somehow "related" to the Chryslers of Chrysler Park. Unfortunately, my grandfather has since passed away and I cannot question him about this.
Does anyone have any idea how I should proceed? I am also interested in finding the marriage for my Charlotte Chrysler to Daniel ORMSBEE c. 1840 - either in Ontario, Canada or New York State. Maybe if I found that, it would give me some clue to the true name of Charlotte's father.
Sorry for the rambling...thanks in advance!
Shannon
