Since I speak the language of the Arkansas Hill Country from where Paradine grew to adulthood, I propose that "Paradine" may well have been pronounced as "Perdine." Sometimes you can hear the echoes of your ancestors'speech patterns by comparing the spellings of their names in contemporary correspondence and records.

When I posted this message back in Jan., 2009 I misspelled the given name. It is Perdine. I have also found other info from family that Perdine may have been of Native American blood. She married a Nichols. I have not been able to find any birth, marriage or even census records as proof. I do have a photo of her head stone with dates but no birth location. I am not finding anything on her daughter Sarah K Nichols until after her marriage to James David Christian Daily my GGrandfather. All the info I have is from Pope County, Arkansas. Thank you for any help
