I went to high school (Excelsior High School) in Norwalk, Ca with both Troy and Ronnie. I had a big crush on both boys. In my freshman year I had a crush on Ronnie. I moved to Hawaii in my sophmore year, and then came back to California for part of my junior year. I became good friends with Troy and had a crush on him. Troy was very artistic and we had an art class together. I wrote both boys full names and birthdates in my diary back in the 1950s. I would never have remembered that information otherwise. I have a few photo's with Ronnie in them and I have some 8mm movies of Troy, but I don't know if they are still good, I haven't checked them in years and that kind of film doesn't always hold up.
They lived on Ibis Street in Norwalk, Ca in the 50s. I think their father was a masonry contractor.
That is the main thing I remember about them, except Ronnie got into a lot of trouble and ended up in Juvenile Detention Camp around 1957.
I moved to Tennessee in 1959 and lost touch with both boys, but I had such crushes on them as a teen that I've always remembered them.
I didn't know that Troy was murdered. I would like to know what happened if you don't mind talking about it. Both Troy and Ronnie were really nice boys.

I went to high school with Troy Eugene Chronister in the 1950's and may be able to provide information if you think this is the person you are looking for. I just googled Troy as I am writing about his brother Ron in my blog and I was curious after all of these years to know if either brother is still alive. The Troy Eugene Chronister I knew was born February 27, 1941. I didn't remember this information, I had a diary when I was in high school and I looked up the information when I googled Troy. His younger brother was Ronald Lee Chronister born July 29, 1942. If you think this is the right Troy Chronister, let me know and I will give you additional information about him.

This information was great. Those names sound familiar to me I think my great grandfather must have used his middle name because that sounds right and the ca, nv, ar, are all places I've heard they lived. My mother is dead and so is my father and father's parent's so it's not that easy to get info on my family.

You can order your grandfather's military records. Check the NARA.gov website to get the information and instructions to order files from modern wars.

**Please understand that I am pulling up names for you. I have no idea if they are your people. You will have to follow the records to see if they match up.**
The 1930 Census shows a Troy E. Chronister and his brother, Harold D., in the household of Thomas R., born AR, (Ancestry indexers read the initial as "T.", I read it as "R.") and Nona F. Chronister, born MS, North Little Rock, AR, living on West 5th Street.
You could look in your nearest large library for city directories for North Little Rock and see what more info they give you for this family. The census lists Thomas R. as a meat cutter in a meat market.
There is a listing in the California Death Index 1940 - 1997 for a Thomas Roy Chronister, SS# 565141876, born 10 Dec 1899 in AR, died 25 July 1978, Los Angeles. Again, I have no idea if this is your great grandfather. You can order the CA death certificate and see who the informant was. You can also order the original SS# application and see what it gives you. The SSDI listing says that his SS# was issued in CA, his last residence was Palmdale, Los Angeles and the last payment went to Lancaster, Los Angeles, CA.
There is a Nona Chronister listed in the SSDI, SS# 568010316. She last lived in Las Vegas, Clark Co., NV, born 21 Jan 1903 and died in June 1972. Her SS# was issued in CA before 1951.
In the CA Death Index, 1940-1977, Harold Don Chronister, SS# 547248974, born 30 Dec 1921, AR, died 1 Oct 1989, Los Angeles, mother's maiden name, Wright.
A Troy E. Chronister, born 1920 in AR, enlisted in the US Army, according to Ancestry's US WW II Army Enlistment Records, 1938-1946. He enlisted on 26 Jun 1944 at Fort MacArthur, San Pedro, CA, as a private for the duration of the war, plus six months. He had three years of high school education was a shop clerk and married.
There are lots of leads for you to follow in these bits.
The CA and NV marriage and divorce records list several more records for Troy E, but I don't know which Troy E. the elder or your father.
There are lots of leads for you to follow in these bits.
You can order vital records from the state where they were created. You will have to order delayed birth certificates for the Thomas Roy and Nona from the states of their births.
There will have to be some sort of record in order for them to have drawn SS benefits. From those you will be able to get parents' names.
Remember, don't take anyone's word for anything. Check everything twice. Get copies of the original records. Anything else is prone to mistakes in transcription or translation. Good luck.

California Birth Index, 1903 - 1995 at Ancestry gives the following information. Not an exact match for the information you give on your father but intriguing.
Troy Eugene Chronister, 27 Feb 1941, Male, Mother's Maiden Name: Johnson, Birth County: Los Angeles.

There are many records for at least two Troy E. Chronisters in CA and NV listed on Ancestry.
The census listing for Troy E. Chronister, age 9, in 1930 Hill Twp., Pulaski Co., AR gives him as the son of Thomas T. and Nona F. Chronister with a brother, Harold D., age 8.
There is a Troy E. Chronister, Sgt. US Army, WW II, 5 Jul 1920 - 2 Feb 1997, buried at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Could this be the father of Troy E. born 1947?

My dad was born on February 27,47 I think and the one in 1930 is probably his father but I don't know his birthday but I believe he passed in 1-96 or 97. As far as the one in Arkansas goes that is where I live if you could give me more info it would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have him in my information. All the Chronisters I have are in a Family Tree on Ancestry listed under TUCKS. You should be able to go to that site and see all of them.
Do you have Troy Chronister's parents names?
