I'm sorry, but I don't have dates for the Eli buried next to George and Catharine Chronister in the Lower Bermudian Cemetery. Eli's stone is very illegible. The only thing I was able to read was "Eli Chronister, son of George and Catharine". Everything else was too worn to read. There is an earlier transcription that was done of this cemetery. I believe it's at the Adams County Historical Society, but I'm not positive. Perhaps the stone was clearer when that earlier transcription was done.

The way that you find good information about your ancestors is to check original source documents such as birth, marriage, and death records, wills, land records, that sort of thing. There are a lot of people who willingly share, but they might be sharing wrong information. I have done some work on the PA Chronisters, but obviously I have concentrated on my particular line, which is not the same as yours. I looked at birth records at the Pennsylvania Archives in Harrisburg, wills at the York Archives, and there are also some excellent resources at the York Historical and Museum Commission (used to be called the York Historical Society) on E. Market Street in York. Since Adams County was formed from York County, all records for people of Adams County would be in York County prior to the year 1800.
If you want to chase all of the conflicting online pedigrees, you'll never know who your ancestors really are. If you live in Pennsylvania, you should go check it out and enjoy it! There are many helpful people at the aforementioned research facilities.

I forgot to mention that some of the confusion with the David Chronisters has to do with a published Chronister book that states that your David Chronister who was married to Margaret was a Civil War soldier. That is incorrect. The David Chronister who served in the PA Infantry was a different David entirely, and he is buried at the Lower Bermudian Cemetery with his grave clearly marked with his Civil War service. David the Civil War soldier served with his father, William B. Chronister, who is buried at the Hampton Union Cemetery (yes, I have documented proofs).

Your David Chronister is different than my David Chronister. There were so many of the same names used in the same places, it's difficult to keep them straight. Your George Chronister is, indeed, buried in the Hampton Union Cemetery, with dates 1851-1937. Next to him is Margaret 1839-1907, and J. Roy Chronister 1880-1951.
George's parents are also there as follows: David Chronister d. Dec 11, 1891 aged 77 years, 4 months, 2 days. Margaret Chronister, wife, d. Dec 29, 1899, aged 80 years, 7 months, 6 days. All have legible headstones, as I did my transcription of Chronister names just last year.
My Lewis Chronister is also buried there. His father's name was David Chronister, too, but a different David. Lewis Chronister and Susan Albert's daughter, Sarah Marie, married Henry Yohe, who was the child of David Yohe and Catharine Sheaffer (also buried at the Hampton Union).
Thank you for the date of birth of your George. The grave gave only the year, so I didn't have it. It's great that you have checked original sources--that's the only way to get things right! Hope this is helpful.

I`m writing to see if you have any more information. My grandmothers maiden name was Elda Rachel Chronister. She had a sister named Anna Margaret. Their father`s name was D. Raymond Chronister. He was born in Hampton. His father`s name was George Chronister. I have his record of birth and baptism. He was born in Latimore Twnshp, Adams Co. on the 26th of Jan 1851. My Aunt says he is buried in Hampton Union Cemetary. (I live close by, but I haven`t been there to check it out.) His father`s name was David Chronister. His mother`s maiden name was Margaret Yoe. And her father`s name was George Yoe. That is all the information I have. If you can help me, I would appreciate it.
