In combing records looking for Chronisters, I have tried to look for all variations of the name spelling. I have tried: Chronister, Cronister, Cranester, Kranester, Kronister, Kronester.
I stumbled across some other names in some indexes that may or may not be Chronisters. Can anyone positively identify any of these people as Chronisters? Conatser may be a completely different surname, but it certainly could have been a name spelling variation of Chronister. I'd be interested to hear from anyone who can claim any of these men as Chronisters. They were all Civil War Union soldiers (with regiment and dependent noted when known).
