Does anyone have a census reading for Adam Cronister in 1820 Lawrence Co.,
TN. I have conflicting information from Sistler and from the online version.
Sistler has two listings for what appears to be the same household but
neither agree with the abstraction online at TNGENWEB.

The following is an affidavit found in the Civil War pension file of Dixon Oliver Chronister. I transcribed it exactly as it was written, so the obvious spelling and punctuation mistakes are as they appeared in the original document...
AFFIANT: Dixon Oliver Chronister
DOCUMENT: Claimant's Testimony
DATE: 18 February 1888
State of Michigan
County of Allegan
In the pension claim of Dixon O. Chronister late of Co E 18th Regt Pa Cav Vols Cert No. 256766.
On this 18th day of February A.D. 1888, personally came before me, a Justice of the Peace in and for the aforesaid County and State, duly authorized to administer oaths Dixon O. Chronister aged 47 years, a resident of Allegan in the County of Allegan and State of Michigan whose post office address is Allegan Michigan and who, being duly sworn, declared in relation to the aforesaid case as follows:
I enlisted at Harrisburg Pennsylvania September 29th 1862. I was taken into a tent and had to undress and was examined by two Surgeons, and they said I was a sound healthy man. I then joined said regiment and was sent to or near Washington, D.C. and drilled on horseback all winter or up to some time in the month of January 1863 when a detachment of said Regiment of which I was one was detailed to gaurde Paymaster to or near Fredricksburg Va and going down hill at a gallop my horse stumbled and fell on me, and Ruptured me. I was completely disabled by said accident and was carried to a house near by and was there taken care of until the detachment returned, about two days after, when I was put in an ambulance and taken to Camp near Fairfax Court House Va. Doctor Marks our Regimental Surgeon examined me and found me Ruptured and injured as aforesaid, and ordered me sent to the Camp Hospital where I remained until sometime in June 1863. Was then sent to Stanton Hospital Wa!
shington D.C. Ward 5 and remained there until October and was then sent to Germantown Philadelphia Hospital and remained there until May 1864. I then thought I could stand it to ride on horseback and re-joined said regiment near Cold Harbor Va about last of May 1864, and on 4th of June 1864 was wounded in Battle of Cold Harbor Va. By Gun Shot through thigh. I was then sent to McClellen Hospital at Nicetown Pa. I remained there until December 1864. I was then sent to Washington, D.C. and on the 13th day of December 1864 I was examined by U.S. Board of Examining Surgeons and they pronounced me unfit for field service, and I was then sent to Veteran Reserve Corps from which I was discharged June 29, 1865.
I here most solemnly reiterate on my oath as aforesaid that I was Ruptured at the time and in manner as here in set forth.

Hey, where is everyone? Doesn't anyone want to come out and play ancestors with me? Isn't anyone else interested in sharing some real information?
Come on, friends, I'm willing to share my toys--what kind of interesting Chronister stuff have YOU found? I'm going to finish posting the remainder of the Chronister families in the 1870 PA Adams County census, and also some other tidbits. Let's get something started, here! It'll be fun.
