Does anyone have information on an Amos Chronister from PA who fought in the Civil War. My wife's grandfather gave me a civil war medal with his name on it and i am trying to find out if there are any ties to her family. Amos fought in the battle of antietam.
Several members of the Johnson Co., AR CHRONISTER line were members of fraternal organizations. A membership roster from the Alma Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star is available at the following URL.

I am looking for a female Chronister from the Mo/Ar area. She maried William Chapman Barnes. She was born approx 1833. I have 13 children born to William and his wife. My problem is that I can't identify her first name or find any info on her. I have her as Mary Elizabeth"Betsy" Keifer Chronister but another individual has William's wife listed Mary Elender Chronister. Do either of these names sound familar to you? If so, I wuld love to share info with you. Thanks, Carolyn
