Now 99.999% sure this is the way it goes. Elizabeth Criswell is daughter of James and Elizabeth Criswell and sister of James F. Criswell. She is living on the farm next to John Thompson in Wayne County Ohio, 1830's. Elizabeth marries Reason Thompson, son of John Thompson in 1836. It gets recorded by minister as "Reson Tomson" and Elizabeth "Criteswell". Marriage index shows it as "Rezor" Tomson. He is mentioned later in his son Alfred's obituary as "Reese". Elizabeth Criswell Thompson later re-marries Elijah Tracy in 1859 and moves to Princeville, Illinois (Peoria). They have son Elijah Criswell Tracy and others. Alfred Thompson shown as step-son in census. What happened to Reason, "Reson", "Resor", "Reese" still unknown.
