Hi Linda,
Is this Linda my cousin, Aunt Connie's daughter?
I was really surprised to hear from you. Are you on this website to try to get some info on the Chriswell's, too? What have you come up with so far? Do you have a family tree of the Chriswell side or at least part of one? I have a little bit of the pretty recent relatives, but I'm having a hard time finding out a lot of things on the Chriswell's and the Swift's and beyond sides. If I lived closer to Indiana I'd go to the courthouse and look throught the records there and I guess in Kentucky, too. I'm sure since New Albany is so close to Louisville some of our relatives were born in Ky.
Where are you living now?
I emailed Cheryl a while back and asked her if she had in any info. Your mom had shown me some pictures of my dad when he was young and I asked her if she knew where they were. She didn't. Your mom said she'd make me some copies, but never got around to it. I would really love to have them or copies. Do you know the pictures I'm talking about? Do you have any pictures of any of our relatives that you could scan me or send me copies of? I would be happy to reimburse you for the trouble.
Well, I hope this is Linda my cousin from Indiana since I've been rambling on so much. Thanks for your email. I didn't know that Aunt Connie spelled Chriswell without the h. Did anyone else in the family? I'll take your advice and try this other spelling. I'd love to hear back from you. Take care, Marian

Check under Criswell instead of Chriswell. Or ck both spellings. Your Aunt Connie spelled her maiden name "Criswell", without the "h".

My great (x2) grandparents are Benjamin Hess and Jennie Belle (Chriswell) Hess. Supposedly, they had a son named Harry. I am having trouble finding a Harry Hess, but I have found a Harry Chriswell that served in the civil war and listed Jennie Hess as his mother. Even more confusing, buried next to Jennie Hess, in Fairview Cemetery (St. Joseph County, South Bend, IN) there is a Harry J. Enyard (1879-1918). If this is her son, Harry, he would have been born when she was 18 years old. I am not sure when Benjamin and Jennie were married, so perhaps Harry did not belong to him.
I am wondering if Harry Hess, Harry Chriswell, and Harry J. Enyard are the same man. I need help figuring it out. If anyone knows anything about any of these Harrys, please let me know. I feel that I may be on to something, yet I am very confused at the same time.
