I've pieced together that ggg grandmother Mary Christy, born in Butler Co PA (according to her obit), is descended from Andrew Christy, married to Mary or Margry Dickey. There were 10 children in this family, and evidence says the family migrated to Tuscarawas County, Ohio, in the late 1830s, and also that Andrew died in about 1845. Many of the children married in Carroll County, Ohio. My ggg grandmother married in Holmes County, Ohio. Several of the children eventually moved on to eastern Indiana.
There are a LOT of Christy families from Butler County PA and its predecessor county, Westmoreland. The Scots-Irish naming convention means that the families all used the same names, honoring grandfathers, fathers, grandmothers, and mothers. I cannot find which of the Christy families from that area is the one that my gggg grandfather Andrew is part of. He would have been born between 1780-1785, so he isn't any of the Andrews that usually pop up in online searching. If you have any clues for me, I will appreciate them.
