This is a VERY old thread, but I sincerely hope you check it from time to time!
Violet May was my grandmother! In fact, we named our daughter after her. She was a wonderful woman, who loved us all dearly. She married Claude Alexander and had two children, Robert and Barbara Kay. They lived in Poplar Grove for my entire life, but I know they spent some years in Chicago and possibly Indiana. Barbara Kay is my mother. She is 64 years old, living in Poplar Grove, IL. She had three children. My older sister Kathie (42) lives in California, I'm Jason (38), living in Northern IL, my younger brother David passed away a few years ago at 28.
I would LOVE to have more information on Grandma's background. Unfortunately she passed away a few years ago, but she did show me one photograph she had of Isabel. My grandfather (Claude) passed away recently, but until his death he wore a ruby ring, and Grandma told us that Isabel brought that with her to the US from Scotland when she immigrated here.
Please reply here! I really hope you still check this, and I also sent an email to your AOL address that I found on an archive of one of the messages you wrote. The photo I've attached is Violet May and her husband Claude on their wedding day.
