William G. Rogers was born abt. 1840 in Bartholomew County, Indiana. His father was Stephen Rogers born 1811 in Indiana and who died on 3 August 1867. His mother was Lucinda Christy born in 1812 in the Missouri Territory and who died abt. 1859 in Bartholomew County, Indiana. Stephen and Lucinda were married on 27 April 1834 in Bartholomew County, Indiana. They had nine children between 1837 and 1856. William G. Rogers was the fourth child and the second son in this family. I need the exact date for the birth of William G. Rogers to include the day, month, and year, and any information about his children. Would be happy to share information about this family!
Thank You!
Your friend, Jim

The last couple of weeks have been a wonderful in regards to my Christy line, I was beginning to think being hatched under a rock really could happen.
With the help from Don Christy I have been able to move on with my once dead in the water line.
For years I have been lost in trying to connect Elizabeth Mae Christy b.1840 in Ark. She will later m. Porter HENSLEY. I have been able to locate her dad through census records as being John b.1808 in Iredell Co.,North Carolina. For the time I had just a first name for his wife....Elizabeth. Don was able to give me a last name of Baker as well as John's parents of Joseph and Mary.
>From here it seems a little unclear at least I haven't been able to lay out the pieces. Hoping someone might be holding the pieces to this puzzle.
Joseph b.about 1766 pos. in Penn. m. to Mary
Thomas b.1735 also in Penn. and m. to Alice Jamison EDWARDS
Thomas b.1710 in Northern Ireland, d. in Penn. wife Catherine
John b.10 Nov.1673
Alexander b.1642 in Aberdeen Scotland with Margaret
Thank you for any help on this great line.

I have a Sons of the American Revolution info sheet for members who have been approved using Major Peter Philip Helphenstine. One of those listed is Alfred Stewart Christy, who joined in the state of Louisiana. I think he died in 1977 and was a son of William T. Christy and Lucy R. Helphenstine (they probably spelled it Helvestin or Halvestin). Based on a little bit of research, I think Lucy was the daughter of a Theodore Helvestin who was born in Virginia around 1820. He married an Eliza Ann (unknown maiden name) and they moved to Louisiana after spending some time in Florida. I am trying to connect this family to the larger Helphenstine family, but I cannot figure out who Theodore's father would have been. Does anybody have this name in their file or know of this family?

There's a large Christy family that settled in Westmoreland Co. in mid 1700's. Many moved to Butler Co. in early 1800's and lived in Slippery Rock Twp. that isn't too far from Grove City. Andrew Christy came to America in 1762 with sons John and James. John married Sarah Dunbar. James married Mary Campbell and Mary McCall after 1st wife died.
You can check One World Tree for these names but I doubt you'll find that the trees go far enough for you. Butler Co. has pretty good genealogical data (check Butler town library. Also see my posting today re. descendants of Andrew Christy.

At MyFamily.com there's a site called the Campbell Christy Clan. This includes any of the descendants of Andrew or his brothers. Andrew had a brother Robert who arrived here in 1763 and an unknown brother who settled in Juniata Co. Pa. Lots of interesting data re. Christy's on this site.
