Kathy:
I have a William Christy born in Fairfield County, Ohio, in 1842. He died on 17 Nov 1861 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was married to Rebecca Huffman, born in about 1842.
William's parents were Nicholas Christy, born in Fairfield Co., Ohio, on 11 May 1818 and Mary Elizabeth Peifer, born on 25 Nov 1825 in Hocking Co., Ohio.
The William & Rebecca I have, had a child Charles W. Christy, born on 28 Aug 1861, in Shelby Co., Illinois. My records do not show they had any other children, but that does not mean they didn't have the two others you mentioned in your email.
If this is your William, I have some more data on his line going back to 1788. All of these Christys were born in Fairfield Counjty, Ohio. I believe you have my email address and telephone numbers, please feel free to contact me any thime.

I am not even sure that you will read this since it has been so long since this post.
I don't want to get your hopes up with this, but this sounds very familiar to me.
Could your father have used the name Dodd at times instead of Christy?
Jimmy Dale Dodd Christy is the name of my fathers nephew.
He fathered a son early in his life but I can't remember the name of his wife.
I believe she lived in North Carolina.
This child would have grown up not knowing his father.
Jimmy was my older cousin on my fathers side, but later married my mother and became my stepfather as well.
No blood ties with my mother.
As for another child for him this is possible as well, but won't go into that.
If you read this after all this time, please contact me, I feel we might be related.
Blessings,

This was posted so long ago you may have given up by now, we might be related since I am the daughter of one of Roy Christy's sons.
Yes my grandfather was from Hayti, Mo.
Pretty much out of touch with the family, but if we are related I might have information that you don't.
Are you a grandson or great grandson?
Blessings,

I am trying to locate information on a William Christy. According to the 1900 census he was born in Ohio in 1845. He was married to Nellie and had two sons--Hallie and William. They were in Kingfisher County, Oklahoma at the time. Any information would be deeply appreciated.

I don't really have any other information on the family, only what was listed in the bible family history pages, and there were no Christys listed.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

My mother's maiden name is Christy. her grandfather was Edward Christy who lived in Pope Cty, IL and was born in Crittenden Cty, KY. His father was Willis Christy. He supposedly died when Edward was a baby about 1852. I don't know his father or anything about him Any information would be helpful I would like to have a copy of the poem.
