Hello! Are you related to Henry Daniel Christy? If so, he was the brother of my 3rd great grandfather, Joseph Kaiser Christy. Joseph married Amanda Bowen, and had my great grandfather, Benjamin Franklin Christy. There are several websites that you can find Christy info on. It seems I am not able to insert links into this reply, so please send me a note at my email address: Llenoj56(a)aol.com

May I have a copy of that document? I am also in the Christy line and would be very much appreciate the documentation for my records. My ggg grandfather was Joseph K (b 1787) and would be happy to provide anything I have.
Thanks very much!
I would also love a copy of the poem, if it would not be too much trouble.
Thanks in advance!

<Thanks for the poem. It looks like it may have been printed in a newspaper. Do you know what publication it was found in?>
No, there wasn't any identifying print on it that showed what paper it was from, although it WAS a newspaper clipping. You can actually see some of the print from the other side showing through in the image. The clipping was among a number of artifacts found in an old family Bible I "rescued", eventually finding a descendant who claimed it. The bible had 4 pages of old photographs (16), another clipping from the "Enquirer" reporting the death and funeral of General John Breckinridge at Lexington, KY, an obituary for one Marcus Linsay Wilson d. 12 Dec 1872, the normal family history register pages with entries for family surnames of Allen,Carr,Davis,Heath,Lynn,Thomas, and Walker. There was also a crisp, like new 1892 Gold certificate tucked WAY back into the binding! I have JPEG images of all the pages and artifacts, and the basic family tree I developed from the bible information is posted on ancestry.com.

Please send me a copy of the poem written by Col. Christy, of Kentucky, a confederate soldier. Thank you. Mary Ann Froelich
Hoping someone might recognize this lady that I uncovered in search of my CHRSITY.
I located her while searching the 1850 Census of Ark. while looking for my line of John CHRISTY who was b. 1807 in NC. I have that his parents were from Penn. but have never been able to close in on them.
My line is from John's daughter Elizabeth b.1839 in Ark. who later m. a HENSLEY.
While snooping the census records I located another child of John...Joseph who at the time of the census is listed as being 28. Along with him is a Mary CHRISTY age 60 listing her place of birth as being Penn. Her birthday would be around 1790.
Is this his grandmother who he is taking care?
Has anyone came across a Mary CHRISTY from Penn? I'm assuming CHRISTY is her marrried name at this point.
Thanks for any help on locating this woman.

I'm going to try to post a copy of the poem with this reply. My ISP sometimes has problems with posting images on Ancestry, so we'll see. If the image doesn't appear, and you want a copy by eMail, please send your email address and I'll send you one directly.
If you have virus concerns with attachments (I don't blame you a bit if you do) I can also send you a printed copy if you'll send me a #10 Self Addressed Stamped Envelope (SASE).
