Jo Nell, I've corresponded with Ms. Helvy (is it Rutha or Ruth A?). I have a Hiram Christy born about the same year as one of those she listed but can't prove a connection. It is odd that his children would include the same name as so many of the siblings and grandfather of that Hiram, but mine was in MO and AR according to SOME (not all) of the census I've found him in. I'm presently trying to search out some of the other Christy's and Christies in the same area as mine in hopes of finding out some of the man's secrets, like who his parents were, exactly, and not just various spellings and myths, which his story seems to abound in. I've never found him on census except in AR so that's where I'm mainly focusing. If I could learn something about the Hiram in IN and IL who was also born in 1846 (December 30?), I could put my mind to rest about whether or not they could actually be the same man.
Anyway, thanks for responding!

No, I don't think so. My Christys are explored in depth on Ruth Helvy's website, name listed below. You can see if any of yours match up. See the section entitled "Christy Pages".
Good Luck,

Excuse me, please. Were your Christy's around NE AR or St. Louis, MO, or Vicksburg, MS, by any chance?

Jeff,
I am back into genealogy research, and wondered if you could send me a link to your website. I wrote back and forth to you on email and few years ago, and we exchanged photos. My great grandfather was Benjamin Franklin Christy, and his father was Joseph K. Christy. If you can send your link to me at my email, I will send you a link to my new website. It is still in progress, so not all information has been entered.
Thanks!
Jo Nell

This may also be my line, and I am trying to work out the ancesters of my Andrew Chrsity, b.NC abt 1878 married to Frances Brown in Adair Co. KY in 1815 then Larkin Christy - Leonard Christy-John Will and on down. I was intrigued as your post indicates a John W married to a Brown. Would love to share any information.
Thanks - Sherry

Skip, I'm running into the same wall. I found a fragment of information regarding the JENNINGS family of Simpson County, KY, which may give a clue to the origin of Martha Jane. If you are still interested or have found new information I would like to correspond.
