Hello! Thank you for posting the Julius deeds. I am related to him, too. My grandfather was Joseph Franklin Christy, son of Benjamin Franklin Christy and Pearl Atkins. Benjamin's parents were Joseph K. Christy and Amanda Bowen.

Sherry,
I don't know if this will help or not but your John B. Christy had a cousin named James Maxwell Christy who married Elizabeth White and it could be that whoever gave the info remembered it wrong and got the Elizabeth's confused.
Still looking for info on this family. It would help so much if there was pension records or bible records or a will.
Let's keep in touch with anything new that comes up.
Linda

I am researching HURLEY / HERLIHY, especially in NY & DC. The following item I came across also has a boarder with the surname CHRISTY, so I thought I'd post it here. I have NO additional info on anyone listed:

James Oliver is my greatgrandfather. Nobody in the family knows anything about his father. They say the father's name was also James and his mother was Sarah. They were never married and so that makes my greatgrandfather illigit. Sarah married later while James Oliver was young to a Tidwell. They were around the Sikeston area. According to a copy of James's ss application, he was born in Allenville MO. I can't find him in 1900, he would have been around 15, I'm assuming under a Tidwell name. I would really like to find my gggrandfather and on down. help
