I am looking for any information on John a. Christy. He was born about 1846 in Ohio to George and Martha Christy. They seemed to have lived around Meigs county area. George Christy was born in Virginia around 1817. Any information on them will be helpfull.
Normally I would not send links to a book for sale, but the full name index listed
on this page might help pinpoint ancestors whereabouts during this time.
They have full names listed.
Note: It is not my book, seller might can be emailed from the page if you have questions.

Hope it helps,

Linda and Mary,
The address to the Jean de Christains biography is
http://www.rootsweb.com/~incccpc/clarkbios/DeChristainsFamily.html
The story was passed down through the family, so it is a little choppy to
read and does contain some inconsistencies. It does have lists of Jean's
siblings (left in France/Switzerland?) and his children.
The family name was de Christains, and was changed to Christy/Christie upon
arrival in America in 1803.
Thanks,
Chris Litzsinger
(GGGGG-Grandson of Jean de Christains)

to go there. It is like Ancestry.com is taking over everything. Everyone

Are you or your family still in the Phoenix area? I have moved to Overgaard, AZ, about 3 hours from Phoenix, in the White Mountains. Basically, you would drive to Payson, turn right, and drive for another hour to get to my town.
I look forward to hearing from you soon. I would be happy to try to help you out with family infornation.

Could you post a chart of the descendants of Lewis CHRISTIAN? Meanwhile, I do show Lewis m. Lavina as a child of James M. CHRISTIE and Elizabeth GARTEN. I will dig into some data tonight and let you know what I find.
I rec'd an email in the past 2 years --which I cannnot locate-- in response to a query I posted regarding my oldest known Christy: Thomas Christy/Christie (b abt 1830 in OH?- d.1893, WV?). The writer explained that his Christy ancestors were descendants of a Frenchman named Jean de Christian (sp?) who changed the spelling of his surname ot Christy after settling in the U.S.
I wish I could locate this very informative email but perhaps someone else has some information. In any event, you may want to research Jean de Christian.
