Doug: When I saw the name I thought it was from the Iowa Dougherty's and they're also kin of ours. Our connection to Andrew Jr. and Sr. have not been proven yet, but we're working on it. But would still like to keep in touch. My e-mail address is rcmaggieron(a)aol.com. I have very little info on the 2 Andrews. We are claiming Andrew, Jr's son, Joseph and Geddy (Sutfin), to be our line. And their son Samuel , m. Elender (Sanders). Sam and Ellen are proven GGG grandparents. Hope to hear from you soon. Maggie

The date I have for the birth of Andrew Christy, Jr is 1755. and he died in 1822. He would have had to been pretty along in years when he fathered this child. But I sure wouldn't say it couldn't happen. All of the info I have on Andrew has not been proven yet. Maggie

I also descend from this Christy line as follows:
Andrew Sr.>Andrew Jr.>John (m. Abigail Frasier)>John W. (married Lucinda Brown) >Rosanah Jane (m. Eli Dougherty)>Albert Clay Dougherty>Leonard Dougherty
Have much info from John W. on down, but am weak on the older generations. I live in Indiana, and am interested in corresponding with some Christy cousins.

My line of descent is as follows, and would love to share with other cousins:
Albert Clay Dougherty ggrandfather
Rosanah Jane Christy gg grandmother
John W. Christy ggg grandfather
John Christy gggg grandfather
Andrew Christy Jr. ggggg grandfather
Andrew Christy Sr. gggggg grandfather
My family information primarily comes from Chester County (Lower Oxford) circa 1820's. This family has been located in Bart Twp., Lancaster Co. in 1830, back to Lwr Oxford in 1840, then on to Delaware County in 1850 where it remained. The earliest name I can directly link to is Lewis B. CHRISTY, b. 1807 in PA. He married Ann THOMAS in 1828 (re-married Eliza Jane Buckelew in 1839 following death of Ann) and they were both from Lower Oxford Twp., Chester County. What also makes it difficult is the various spelling. I have found the same Christy's spelled: Christie, Christee, Christey, Christley, Cristy.
I can provide descending information the family if anyone could possibly tie to this family.
Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much,
Mark Christy

Am looking on information on the Christy Family that my Great, Great Aunt Anna married into. Anna was born around 1898, and still living at home in 1910 based on that year's Ohio Cenus info.
Other siblings of Anna were, Margaret (Stahl), Myrtle (Rhymer), Oda (?), Florence (?), Ellie (?), Nellie (?), and brother Arthur Walker.
Any of this ring a bell for anyone? Please email me at dlhuntley4(a)home.com

I've been reading your info on Andrew Christy and I think we might have a connection to this person. Besides his son Andrew, Jr. (m. Delilah ?), did he have children named Joseph (m. Geddy Sutfin in 1784, later m. Caturah ?), Samy (Samuel),Susanna (m. Samuel Neil), Richard (m. Nancy Downs), Polly (m. William Downs), and John (m. Abigale Frazer)? He's buried at Burch Cemetery just south of Bloomfield, IN. We haven't made a deffinite connection here but are working on it. Because Joseph and Geddy would be my GGGG grandparents. Please let us know. Our address is rcmaggieron(a)aol.com. Thanks, Ron Christy
