were not in Indiana, but this is a possible link. I haven't done the original

that was put together by Ruth Turner Ziegel. Try world connect at Rootsweb

Looking for information on Samuel and Elender (Sanders) Christy. They were
the parents of 10 children. Children were born in VA, KY and Indiana. Samuel
is buried in Burnsville Christian Cemetery in Burnsville, IN. Elender and
family moved to Davis County, IA about 1851. After settling for awhile
in Davis County, several members of Elender's family later moved to KS.

Does this family sound familair to anyone? Hoping to find new "cousins"
Hello list,
I have the book "Descendants of Josiah Bull, Jr of Dutchess County, NY" and
it has a lot of genealogical information (including photos) of the
descendants of William CHRISTY, son of Dennis Christy and Cornelia Bartlett,
b.05 July 1772 in Dutchess County, NY. He married Ruth BULL in November 1795
- they were "Quakers".
William and Ruth had 16 children, 2 died in infancy.
Anyone wishing a lookup in this book, let me know, ok?

died 1850 same
had three sons and 1 daughter.
One of their sons, Norman C. Christie b.1805 ,and their daughter
went to Green Co.KY.
Norman was a Methodist minister and a farmer. he married Nancy

their several children was Horace Riley Christie b21 June 1877

Ruth Lela and Opal and one son Fonzie Christie( He, his wife
and their only child a son died from TB)
Opal was my grandmother.
I am seeking the parents of Elijah Christie.and their birthplace.
I believe the family came from Scotland.
Also FYI
I belong to Clan Farquharson USA and would like to add to the
information what I know of Clan Farquharson's political leanings
during the Jcobite wars.
Clan Farquharson took it's place on the field of Culloden or
Dumossie as it's known, and fought and bled for King James of
Scotland and Bonny Prince Charley. They were staunch Jacobites
, not "Royalists"...the lot of them.Many still are. =)

Hi,
I've never posted to this list before but I just finally got my web site up and
running. I am still working on a couple of my family lines that I have not put on
my site yet however I do have my Christie/Christy side of the family up. So,
anyone who would like to check it out can find it at
http://katlchrjones.tripod.com/katsup/
I haven't had a lot of luck tracing this line back very far so anyone who has even
the slightest possible connection to my line would be of much interest to me!
Thanks!

Hi Brenda! Good to hear you're still trudging away. Have you stumbled over my
Lewis yet? You can find John CHRISTY from Lancaster County, PA on the 1790
Census, and also on the 1810 Census of Bart Twp. There is also a John CRISTY
(notice spelling) on the 1828, 1835, and 1842 Septenniel Census for Lower Oxford
Twp., Chester County PA. I believe that these John's are all the same, and may
be related to my Lewis, as they are mentioned together in Oxford, and Lewis at
one time lived in Bart Twp. However, I have not been able to build a case in
stone.
Please let me know if you find anything.
Thanks,
Mark
Billie and Mary,
Samuel Christy was born in PA in 1779, and Rose Creamer b. in VA. in 1791.
They were married in Fayette Co., Oh 14 Mar, 1822
David Christy and Rhoda Gallimore were born in Oh and married in Fayette Co. on 6
Oct, 1846.
David died in 1906 and is buried at Cedar Rapids, Ia along with second wife Martha
Puckett who died in 1903
I think that they had lived in 2 or 3 different countys in Iowa.
