Hi List!
Does anyone have the names of the children belonging to Willim Christy and
Martha Thompson Taylor Christy? William Christy was a public official in the
St Louis Missouri area. He was born in PA and I believe he lived in Indiana
and Kentucky before going to Missouri in the early 1800's.
The migration pattern is very similiar to my line and his age bracket would
fit for the father of my Thomas Christy who was b in PA 1780-90. An article a
friend found on the Autobiography of a Mr. Scott also stated William's father
was named Thomas. It went on to state "Maj. William D. Christy, maternal
grandfather of the wife of
Joseph Thompson Scott, was born Jan. 10, 1764, in Carlisle, Penn., his
parents having come from Dundee, Scotland. His father, Thomas Christy, was
a captain in the British army, and came to America before the struggle for
independence began. He participated in the battle of Monongahela, and was
severely wounded during that engagement."
Thanks!
