Hi,
I am looking for information on my GG Grandfather. He was from Ohio and served with the Union Army in the Civil War. He
married Rachel Chaney (prob. after the war) and they had at least one daughter, Myrtle Christie, who lived in Dixon
County, TN. Family history has Fred coming to TN just after the war as a railroad worker of some sort. I am especially
interested in his Army record and of course, finding his parents and another set of long-lost cousins.
Thanks,
Conard Murray

Good morning,
James Milton CHRISTY, according to "Some Quaker Families,
Scarborough/Haworth" by Roger Boone, was born in London England on 12
May, 1746.
The only other piece of information on his life in England is from "The
Christie Family Record" by Lewis H. M. Christie, who writes that James
Milton CHRISTY was a cupbearer to the King of England.
Now, stop that laughing right now :-) I know this is probably a "granny
story" but it is the only lead I have. Besides, someone had to be a
cupbearer - - - what's a king without a cupbearer?
Amazingly, Rootsweb does not have a "Cupbearers to the King" mailing
list; therefore, I am asking if one of you might know where to start
looking for this kind of information.
Thanks,
Bill Hobbs
