""17 Feb 1735 Nichl's Christopher"" This is why I say this Nicholas is
different from ours. We have land records for our Nicholas from early
1700's in different location in Virginia.

David, I may be wrong, but I think the Nicholas from Orange County is a
Different Nicholas Christopher. I was studying the Orange County people a
week or so ago and discovered they were different from our line. Since
they are not the line I am studying, I did not take notes, so this is just
one of those things you remember but can not prove.
Many people on ancestry insist that "1. Capt John married Saurity mid 1700 2.
Son Thomas (1788) married Achsah Dunaway" are the parents and grandparents
of George Ambus Christopher, my 2nd Great Grandfather. Any preliminary
searching on Thomas and Aschah will verify they never had a son George A or
his sister Jane.

Headrights of Orange Co., Virginia[1]
Headrights were grants of 50 acres of land per "head" - or
per white male over the age of 16 who transported himself to the
colonies. They appear in the Court of Common Pleas in the county in
which the land was granted. The attached file includes the headrights
copied from the Orange Co., Va Court of Common Pleas in the 18th
Century. These headrights function as the only real immigration record
for English, Scot or Irish immigrants in that time period. The
headright identifies the country of origin and generally the port of
entry in the colonies.

My nephew, Al christopher sent me your email address and said he had talked
to you about the Christopher family from Northumberland County, Va. I have
done some research on the Christopher family (my father's side), but not as
much as on my mother's or my dad's mother' s side. It has been difficult
getting as much information as I would like. In searching the Christopher
family I have only traced it back as far as mid 1700's.
The family of Christopher's are:
1. Capt John married Saurity mid 1700
2. Son Thomas (1788) married Achsah Dunaway
3. Gr Son William (1818)married twice; second wife Jane Miskell
4. Gr Gr son John William (1863) married Margaret Dunaway
5. Gr Gr Gr son Robert Christopher (1902) married Izola Haynie
6. Gr Gr Gr Gr daughter Doris (1937) me
This Christopher family is filled with John, James, William, and Thomas
names; not any Ambrose or Nicholas that I have found. Also, as best as I
can
tell my grandfather (John William) was from Richmond County. I did find some
records in Northumberland County when doing my search.

I talked to a lady today who lives in Lancaster County, Va. this morning. I
don't have a complete rundown, but this is some of what she was telling me.
Her father was Veale Columbus Christopher married to Odell Haynie.
Her Grandfather was John William Christopher married to Margaret Emma
Dunaway.
Her G Grandfather was William Christopher married to 1st Catherine
Davenport, 2nd Jane Miskell.
Her GG Grandfather was Thomas Christopher married to Achsah Dunaway.
It seems that a Captain John Christopher was the surety on the marriage of
Thomas.
This lady, I didn't ask her age, but she seemed to be upwards of 70, maybe
80 said that her family as she understood had come from Richmond County, but
that maybe she had some ties into Northumberland?

This is one of those two different Christopher lines intermarrying. There
is another one besides My uncle Horace (dad's brother) who married Madelyn
Christopher who's Christopher line descends from Thomas Christopher another
Irish immigrant. I can not remember who the other one is though at the
moment I remember "Seaborn" and debated whether to add that line to
Nicholas tree (YDNAExperiment) But I did because I thought it was
interesting how lines mix together.
William and Nancy Parker Christopher are the William and Mary in the
Christian Index and Mary is the lady the obit was about who died in 1854
along with two of her daughters and is supposedly the mother of Jessie
Christopher that is on the Christian Index.
I do not have anything on the Mary b 1841.
