I'd like to jump right in and say I moved into Coweta Co, GA last year. I also saw the obit for Frances Christopher and she attended Turin United Methodist Church in Turin, GA. I have been to this church several times for covered dish luncheons and had no idea she attended there.
I descend from Nicholas Christopher and suspect some of my line moved into what was "Campbell Co, GA" which connects with Coweta Co.
If there is anyone in the Turin church related to Frances, I would be happy to talk with them.
Also, I might add there is very little information to be found at the courthouse or library in Coweta Co relating to the Christopher's.

Thank you for the reply. I am sorry to hear of the passing of Frances Christopher; I live in Atlanta, not far from Coweta, Co, so it would have been interesting to sit down with her. Do you have an appropriate contact in her family that I might reach for follow-up?
(Your description of your husband being the decendent of 2 brothers confused me until I read another of your postings describing the marriage of 1st cousins!)

I recently read your msg regarding the linage of Nicholas Christopher. I am researching a Christopher line that includes George Ambus (Ambrose) Christopher and a sibling Jane Christopher; both married into the Mathews family in Abbeville, SC. George A. Christopher was born abt 1817 and married Jane Adeline Mathews on Nov 18, 1843 in Abbeville, SC. Jane Christopher was born abt 1817 and married Thomas Jefferson Mathews in 1844 in Abbeville, SC.
George and Jane's children carry the following given names: William Henry, John Lewis, Sarah jane, Martha Ella, Maggie Lucretia, Mary, James DuBose, Joseph Henry, and Analiza.
I noticed some tie-ins to both Abbeville, SC and the name Ambrose. Can you place George and Jane within your Christopher line or give me any clues to their origin?

To the best of my knowledge, the father of William Christopher has not been determined. Mrs. Frances (Mattox) Christopher of Coweta Co., Georgia, who passed earlier this year at the age of 87, worked on this family for many years and was not able to find his parents.
My husband is a descendant of two of the brothers of Eliza & Susan Hardy (William Jesse Hardy & Rufus Wesley Hardy). They were all the children of Aquilla Hardy & his 1st wife, Mary "Polley" Steward.

I am interested in any information regarding the family of William Christopher, b. 1813 in Halifax, VA, moved to Coweta Co, GA, married Eliza Hardy 1834 and her sister Susan in 1841. Moved to Gadsden, AL around 1854.
Specifically, I am trying to determine William's parents, but any information on this line would be appreciated.

Yes, it has been a while, but I am still here. My familytree is on my laptop, so give me a second to see what I have. I honestly don't even remember William Christopher.
Hmm, he doesn't appear to be on my tree.
my direct e-mail is MannClann(a)aol.com. e-mail me there and let me do some research this weekend and I will get back with you. (I might have the info on another tree that got backed up on my husband computer.

I too am looking for the parents of the Wm. Christopher you describe; he was my GGgrandfather. I was told that he was born in Halifax, VA.
I have also been told that his father was Wm. as well and his mother may have been Lucy Jones, but I have evidence.
Before I continue, I wanted to see if you were still out there since this post is so old.
