I wonder if anyone has ever thought to do DNA testing
between the various Christopher groups we research to
see if any link exist between the groups? It would be
interesting, though I have no idea what something like
that would entail, cost or otherwise........

Nice to see your post of the Christopher family of Staten Island. My records indicate that they settled in New Jersey and Fayette County, PA, and the immigrant Nicholas (separate family) settled in Virginia. I would be interested to see what information you might have regarding this.

I am looking for the family of Samuel Spicer CHRISTOPHER (b. abt 1757 in MD; d. 1811 East FL; married Mary GREENWOOD abt. 1780 location unknown--maybe in GA or SC) of Maryland according to the St. Augustine Parish Records in St. Augustine FL. He is the son of John (Bluitt?) CHRISTOPHER (b. abt or bef 1737; married abt or bef 1757 to Martha WATSON location unknown).
The parish records do not indicate from where in Maryland the CHRISTOPHER family came. Samuel Spicer was probably a loyalist who came to FL during the British period. He is living there when the Spanish took FL back in 1783. CHRISTOPHER remained and swore allegiance to the Spanish king and worshipped as a Catholic although his will specifically requested a Church of England funeral.

Those names do not ring a bell but Joseph is a name that crops up in the Christopher family so there is a possibility. I have not had time to do much research lately but if I do find a connection I will let you know.

The branch of the Christophers that are part of by tree include the following people:
Joseph Christopher (married to Josephine Gambrell)
Thomas
Laura Mae
Priscilla
Ida
Nancy
Sadie
Charles
Mary
Rebecca
Laura Mae is my maternal great-great grandmother.
I'm hoping to learn who Joseph's parents were. Joseph was born in Maryland in 1860. Also, I would like to flesh out Josephine Gamrell's line. I suspect that her name may be Mary Josphine, because there are no Josephines in the Maryland area when she was born on any other census than the 1870 US Federal Census.
Do any of the names I listed ring a bell?
