I have an Elisha Abner Christopher b. 16 Dec. 1895 in TX. who married Ruby L. Anderton 03 Sep 1922 Beckham Co .OK. He was the son of Abner Reuben Drake Christopher b. 16 Jun 1849 Franklin Co. GA. and his 2nd wife Nancy Jane Rimmer/Rimare b. 15 May 1865 Hopkins Co. TX. I believe I have found Elisha listed on census records as Elisha O. but on the WWI Draft Reg. he lists his name as Elisha Abner. A.R.D. Christopher was the younger brother of my Great Grand Mother Sarah E. Christopher Rimmer. I have additional family information if this sounds like the right Elisha Christopher to you

Hi
Thanks for replying. It doesn't sound as though it's the same family - at least not the direct line. I've managed to trace back now to a Johannes Christopher, born 1622, an immigrant from Holland. The family stayed in the Staten Island area for centuries.
What I am interested in and can't fill out is George Washington Christopher, b. 1823, d. 1914. He was a Pilot in the Port of New York and married an Irish immigrant called Mary. That's all I can find. It would be nice to get his marriage cert. or his son's (also George Washington) birth certificate. This is the link I have no paper proof of except that George jr's marriage cert gives George sn. as his father.
The only census info I can find is 1850 and 1901.
If you come across anything I'd be very grateful.
Good hunting!
Barbara
