Steve,
It was good to hear from you. I've been in contact with Mike Shaffer, who is Sally's great grandson, and I'm Thomas' great granddaughter. Mike has a great picture of Sally, Thomas and Julia. I'll send it to you if you want to send me your email address.
We've got a bunch done which I'll also send you, if you're interested, but neither one of us have gotten very far on Michael.
Why don't you contact me off list.
it's quiltlady3(a)cox.net
Looking forward to hearing from you.

I'm a great-great-grandson of Michael Christopher. At least it seems so from what little I've found on him. His daughter, Julia, was my great-grandmother. Her birthdate & residence from LDS records "fit", anyway. I too have rn across the name Hews & Michael's, or Mick's, Civil War record & his wife's pension application as a veteran's dependent. Sorry I don't have anything new to share, but I'd appreciate any news you might find.
Hiddie Ho Neighbors!
I have a list of Christophers that were settled in the Washington
County/Saint Francois County Missouri areas. I am at work right now, but
tomorrow I will try to dig the list up and post it here. I am stuck on my
searches, and have been browsing this list for the last, how long, oh 3 or 4
years, and haven't had any leads.
Take care to all,
Deion "Mule" Christopher

I was so hopeing the Thomas Christopher shown in 1790 Rowan Census was Thomas H. Christopher b. 1752 in Md. who was the father of Peter, Ephraim and Sarah and additional sons. Our Thomas would have died in Catawba Co. N. C. Just wanted to make sure this was your Thomas before we ruled him out. Thanks,

Thomas Christopher born 1758 died after 1840 before 1850
shown in the 1790 Rowan NC census
travels with his family to Kentucky.
His son William D Christopher born in NC marries Mary Polly Williams in Caldwell County Kentucky September 14 1820.
Thomas Williams her (Mary Polly Williams) father is living in Darnells Parish Caldwell KY in 1820 and so is James Christopher.
Thomas Williams is a friend of Thomas Christopher and they are both in Rowan NC in 1790.
I believe James Christopher is the son of Thomas Christopher and brother to William D Christopher. Most importantly he is the husband of Ellenor Christopher the mysterious widow who travels with Thomas and William D Christopher and settles on a farm in Union Washington County Missouri. William and his wife seem to be helping the widow until she remarries James A Hays on Sept 16 1834 and moves off the Christopher farm but same area. The family stays close.
I am looking for confirmation of this from anyone who studies the Christophers.
Possibly a marriage record for James Christopher and Ellen in North Carolina or Kentucky.
I know Thomas Williams received Kentucky land for his service in the war.
James seems to die during before or right after the move from KY to Missouri. Maybe some record of his will?
Mary (Nart) travels to Kentucky. She is the daughter of David Christopher, who is also Thomas father. Maybe she is traveling in relation to the death of James or the marriage of William D?
Any help is so appreciated.
Frances Christopher
