Phillip, I too am trying to research the Christopher family. My husbands great grandfather was George Solomon (not john Solomon) Christopher, born about 1821. He was a brother to Eli ( Elias)Christopher. Their father was John Solomon according to some information I obtained from the Benton County Tennessee Library. I have not been able to locate the name of their mother. As you stated they were married to the Snider sisters. I have searched and searched for their parents to no avail. Eli and Solomon also had brothers Wesley, Joseph, Thomas, and Jessie. John Solomon then married Betsy Harlowe. Somewhere I saw it listed as the widder Harlow. They had 3 sons David, John and Robert. No where do I find any daughters mentioned, but surely out of that many kids there were some daughters. Eli first married Harriet R. Mosmon on April 2, 1944 in Henry County, TN. He then married Lauretta Jane Snider on May 31, 1849 in Henry County, TN.. George Solomon married Isabella S!
nider on July 10, 1850. They fell thru the cracks on the 1850 census as I can neither find them as a couple or as a child in another household. My mother-in-law Makie Christopher McDaniel lived to be almost 101 years of age. She was the daughter of George Solomon Christopher and Isabelle Kee Wynn. He was the son of George Solomon Christoopher and Isabella Snider. You may have this information. If not maybe it will help. I'm still searching for information of the Snider sisters. By the way, I live in Jackson,TN only about 60 miles from Camden and I'm frequently in the area.
Happy Hunting
Carolyn McDaniel

Thanks for the reply. I have this info from another user. The Robert I am referring to however is John Ussery Christophers son. He was married twice...the first to an Allice Tarpley. She would be my GGGgrandmother. They had one son together before her death. I am from Limestone County and unfortunately the information in the book you referenced has been no help as some of the info is erroneous.

Am searching for info on George W Christopher married to Ella (perhaps Mason); 1900, 1910, 1920 Baltimore City censuses. W/children including James N in earlier census, then with sisterinlaw, martha Winkleman, brother in law, james mason. I find a George W Christopher in 1880 Virginia census with Elizabeth Boss (W), children incl Robert Boss, George W Christopher, a Mary Mason, age 45, children James Mason. We would like to find links that give us info so that we can figure out if there are relationships we should explore. We know we need to make a trip to Baltimore to discover James Mason's death info to determine if this is our James Mason. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Agnes,
I already had the cemetery records you sent. Found them about 10 years ago in a library.
What I'd really like are up to date records on your family. I have the names of all the children of John Hansaw & Mary Christopher: Emma, Minnie, John F., Harvey, Harrison & Carrie. Most of the names I have are from the 1900 census but I don't have any later information.
I don't have any of their descendants (although you have mentioned that your husband, Clifford Hedden, is descended from Minnie). I'd like to put the finishing touches on our family genealogy.
Are there any other Hansaw descendants out there from John & Mary Hansaw? John F. and Harvey Hansaw died fairly young but could have had descendants. All I know is the brief note in which you explained your husband being descended from Minnie Hansaw Hedden.
If your daughter is working on the genealogy, I'd sure like to be in contact with her directly. Would you mind sending me her email address. My email address is: carychristopher(a)yahoo.com. I sure would appreciate your help. I've been working on the family genealogy since 1968 and would like to disseminate the information so we can locate other relatives. Thank you!
No, not at the moment, but I will ask some of my
fellow researchers if they have any data on this line,
will let you know if I find anything.
