Hello Christopher Cousins,
Thanks to Bill Christopher and Jimmy Christopher we now have more information
on motels in the Madison, GA area. As I suggested in an earlier email, you
should consider reserving your lodging choice now because it is a popular
place in the summer months for reunions, weddings, etc. and the motels fill
up quickly.
Each of these motels have 800 numbers you can secure locally.
1. Days Inn (Sold out for the weekend of the reunion)
2. Super 8 Motel (58 rooms $41 to $48 plus tax)
3. Holiday Inn Express (39 rooms $79 plus tax breakfast included)
4. Ramada Inn (50 rooms $48 plus tax)
5 Hampton Inn (50 rooms $65 plus tax breakfast included)
6. Comfort Inn (50 rooms approx. $52 plus tax)
There is a state park, Hard Labor Creek, located at Rutledge, Ga. which
is about 10 minutes from Madison and about 20 minutes from Farmington. Any
one who would like to camp could check there for reservations. Also, there
is a private camp ground at Bishop, Ga. Pine Lake RV Campground (GA Hwy. 186
which is 5540 High Shoals Road) Bishop, Ga. 30621 706 769 5486.
All of the motels are located at the intersection of I-20 and US 441.
This intersection is about 1 mile south of Madison. By following US441 North
you will be in Farmington in about 15 minutes. We will be using the Community
Center in Farmington as our meeting place.
Jimmy also noted that High Shoals is located about 10 miles from Madison and
about the same distance from Farmington. Athens is about 40 minutes from
Madison and about 20 or 25 minutes from Farmington. Crawford is about the
same distance. Greensboro is about 20 minutes from Madison. Jefferson is
about 1 hour from Madison. Lumpkin County is about 2 to 3 hours from Madison.
I would really like to hear from each of you to get some idea of how many to
plan for. We have volunteers who are willing to help in the refreshment arena
also who will require an approximate number to plan for.
But folks, most of all, I need some money. We need it up front to pay for the
Community Center and to buy refreshments. PLEASE, please send it in if you
haven't done so.
My mailing address is: 10205 Henry Mill Rd. Fairburn, GA 30213.
Thank you,
Linda Dallen
