Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Hi Betty,
You are more than welcome. I suspect the claim that Annie Duke is the wife
of Thomas Cross Christmas is erroneous.
I hope that you and your brother will upload your raw DNA data from Family
Tree DNA's Family Finder to GEDMatch. That will enable you, at no cost, to
see matches from other companies as well as matches that Family Finder
failed to place on your match list.
GEDMatch.com is the site where I made this intriguing connection. Uploading
to GEDMatch.com is free, but donations are recommended. I highly recommend
that anyone who has tested with Family Tree DNA's Family Finder, 23andMe,
and/or AncestryDNA, upload your raw DNA data to GEDMatch.com. In fact, if
you are an AncestryDNA customer, then you must upload your raw DNA data to
GEDMatch.com to get any use out of that test.
I have connected with a number of Christmas descendants (including some on
this list) via DNA and made phenomenal discoveries using GEDMatch.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Very Respectfully,
Shannon

Hello all,
I just observed that known descendants of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cross
Christmas of Hanover County, Virginia share DNA with known descendants of
Isaac Holeman and Mary Benton Hardy of Shenandoah, Virginia and Rowan
County, North Carolina. This indicates the two families share a common
ancestor. Has anyone reviewed documents explaining the connection and
identifying the common ancestor?
This new development may shed light on the indentity of Mrs. Thomas Cross
Christmas. I look forward to hearing from you.
Very Respectfully,

Hi John,
Below is what I sent to the Christmas List on
Aug. 30 & Sept. 13, about how to get a CD,
which you should have received.
"Several people have asked for cost of workbooks.
The workbooks are free of any financial charge; I do ask that you help
with editing your line. See below for portions of
August 30 letter to the Christmas List:
Your help is needed again. The web page can be
quickly updated for errors, but not the workbooks. If would be most helpful,
if you would check the web page, and let me know
of errors, anything you would like changed, or added. The workbooks are
ready, but I will wait until October 1, before mailing, to include your edits.
Those that have helped or will help in editing
the web page, I will be happy to send you a book on your line; please
send your postal address to my email account wht(a)whturner.com
If you would also send me the address of your
local genealogy society or state archive, and the
person to contact, I will send
them all of the workbooks. Each workbook contains
a Copyright, to prevent someone from posting it on the Internet or some
fee charging genealogy site."

Hi Michelle,
Glad you got the CD. As to a printed workbook, I do not do them
anymore, as they have gotten too large
for me to handle. You can make copies of the PDF file for family
members, but please remind them of
the Copyright.
Best regards,
Herbert

Dear Herbert:
How do I obtain a CD of the workbook about Thomas Cross Christmas? I am his direct descendant through the Whitlock family, and I'm eager to learn what documentation there is for his family.
Thank you; John Cook
Hello Herbert,
I appreciate the cd you sent me on the Thomas Cross Christmas line, you have put so much time and work into your research.
I want to know if there is any way I can purchase 3 of the actual workbooks so I can give them to family members for Christmas. I would print them off myself, but at the present time I am not able to. If it is possible to buy them just let me know how much for each copy.
Thank you for everything you do!
May God bless you.
Michelle
