Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Dear Ray
I noticed your email to Anna and Herbert (3 October), and had to write you.
I, also, am a Christmas.
My GG Grandmother was born in Surrey in 1834 and all of the family lived in
the Godalming/Witley areas.
Ellen Mary Christmas was actually born in the Hambledon Union Workhouse. He
farther, James, was a married to Elizabeth Glazier.
Somehow, they managed to emigrate to Canada about 1842. Does any of this
sound familiar to you? The coincidence is too great to be ignored.
please let me know what you think
Regards
Diane

DNA search for 'father' Christmas
By Paul Rincon
BBC News science reporter
Henry Christmas has spent 50 years researching his surname.
A team of scientists in Oxford is trying to prove whether families with the
rare surname of "Christmas" all descend from a single male ancestor.
They want to compare the DNA of men from different Christmas clans to see if
they are linked by a common genetic heritage as well as by their surnames.
