Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

I just returned from vacation in Van Zandt Co. Texas area.
I went by the Federal Reserve in Fort Worth.
I found one Christmas on the Dawes Indian roll.
Application was made as a Mississippi Choctaw Indians, but Refused.
By wife of William Christmas "Samantha M. Wood".
The Wood's claim heritage, William Christmas is a "don't know" and made no claim.
Mississippi Choctaw, Choctaw Nation, South McAllister, Indian Territory - (today Oklahoma)
Documents say that William and Samantha married when she was 17, would be 18
in July, at Carthage, Missouri. (No date included but I get 1885 when I do the math)
A reference to a Missouri Land Deed is also in the documents, to confirm Missouri.
Lived in IT (OKLA) for 6 months moving from Missouri.
When Samantha was
ask if husband William Christmas had Indian Blood, the answer was NO.
Final note on Samantha's application:
"This applicant has light brown hair, light gray eyes, and rather high cheek
bones. With the exception of this latter feature she appears to be a white person".
Application denied for reason of "insufficient evidence at this time".
