As an author of 10 books on the transcriptions of old documents I have
thought it would be nice to publish a book on Transcribing Old
Documents. What I would like is suggestions of what the general public
would like to see in such a book.
8 of the 10 books have the Christmas families in them and I am sure that
there are loads of you out there who had family in the Warren County, NC
area in the 1700s and 1800s. I am looking for samples of handwriting
that you are having trouble transcribing. Please submit a scanned copy
of your document to books(a)ancestraltracks.com and I will send you a
transcribed version back for the use of the document in my new book.
Please include a permission note with the scanned document. For those
of you who do not have a scanner please mail the document or color copy
of document to: Ancestral Tracks PO Box 64, Forest Grove, OR 97116-0064,
and I will scan it. If you would like to check out my work please visit
my website at http://www.ancestraltracks.com and please sign my guest book.

Can you help find Ann Christmas, age 50 to 90??, who had a son Richard Christmas? Ann was born Ann Plowicki and had a brother named Joseph Plowicki that lived in Saskatchewan, Canada. My spelling of names might be a little inaccurate. Respond please to machur(a)shaw.ca if you think you know of the whereabouts of Ann or Richard. Thankyou.
Sincerely, Marion Achurch
Hi everyone,
Does anyone have information on, or connection to Ann Christmas b. 1847
daughter of James Christmas and Elizabeth ?, who married George Daynes
[b 1845] at Frettenham Norfolk in 1868.
Any information greatly appreciated.
Regards,
John Russell Emmerson,

Joyce,
I spend most of my time typing this information for people to read. All
I did was clip a small portion of the new book and put it on the list
for others to see. I am finished with all the Minutes to the Court of
Please and Quarter Sessions for Warren Co. NC from 1780 to 1811. By
next weekend I should have 1812 and 1813 finished. After that I hope to
begin either the Deeds or the Guardianship papers. My next book will be
one or the other in Abstracted form. I post all the indexes to my books
for people to look at on my Website at http://www.ancestraltracks.com
because as you know we have more than one relative in the area at any
given time. The Christmas family was very instrumental in the forming
of Warren County, NC in the late 1700's. Thomas Christmas provided 100
acres of land for the county seat of Warrenton and held court at his
home for 5 or 6 years while the Courthouse was being funded and built.
The Dukes, Greens, Powers, Powells, Johnstons and many others were very
active in the judicial system of the county.
Many of the names in these records can only be found here. I did a
survey of 100 people in my first book and 75% of them were not found on
tax lists or census records. This means that many of the records in the
Court Minutes are one of a kind records. The records cover Patrollers
of the roads, builders of the roads, those gaining licenses for eating
houses and taverns as well as those who were jurors on the Grand Jury of
the court.
This is a lapsing I have for knowing about the person and not just that
they existed from one date to another. These people are part of what
makes us who we are and they lived very interesting lives.

Grand jury indicts 3 Montague escapees
BOWIE (Special) - Three of the Montague County escapees were indicted on
escape charges this week by the grand jury, with one charged in connection
with the murder of her grandparents.
District Attorney Tim Cole said Chrystal Gale Soto, 22, Curtis Allen
Gambill, 25, and Joshua Luke Bagwell, 23, were each indicted on charges of
escape.
Gambill and Bagwell were indicted on escape-enhanced, while Soto was
charged with escape.
The trio, along with William Charles Jordan, escaped from the Montague
County Jail on Jan. 28. After an 11-day flight, the four were captured in
Ardmore, Okla.
Soto also was indicted on charges of theft from a person or human corpse,
theft, $1,500 to $20,000, destruction of evidence and organized criminal
activity-unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
All three charges are related to the murder of James and Ullaine
Christmas last November. Soto allegedly took jewelry from Mrs. Christmas,
cleaned up the area where the couple was killed and was with Jordan and
Willard Christmas when they took the couple's pickup and fled to Washington.
Both Gambill and Bagwell have been returned to the Texas prison system,
while Soto and Jordan await hearings in Oklahoma.
This is an authentic coat-of-arms, based on the following authority:
Family of Christmas, Denmark, 1580 AD. Arms: Sable a bend or, in
sinister chief a Christmas tree proper. This description was secured
from the International Ancestry Guild, London.
Authority: Koller's Armorial, Vol I, p26 They state this is the oldest
Arms recorded to the CHRISTMAS family in Europe. It was also recorded
in England. The crest has a black sable strip from left to right from
top to bottom and a green tree in the upper right corner with gold dots
in the background.
This was sent to me by Howard W. Christmas some 20 years ago.
