Sorry people....I intended to send this directly to Herbert and Annette.
But, you all know I am not the 'sharpest tool in the shed'. So, forgive me.

Joyce,
Merry Christmas! I've been so busy, I'm still trying to catch up with
Christmas. The biggest problem was I had to have back surgery the Monday
after Thanksgiving. That really keeps you down for awhile. I'm finally to
the point I don't have to lay down during the day to rest my back but I'm
still waiting for the tightness to relax. I know that will take about
another month.
My husband & I are flying up to Vancouver, BC, Canada to spend Christmas
with his mother. Its the "McMillan" Christmas year, this year. Poor Mom
has been fighting a terribly sore throat. She finally went to the doctor
yesterday but ended up in the emergency room yesterday afternoon. Because
her throat was SO sore, she was having trouble breathing and she started
hyperventilating. Luckily, though they got her into an ENT instead of just
a regular doctor and found that although she wasn't running a fever, she had
a terrible infection. So they gave her some heavy duty shots of "this &
that" to fight the infection, pain, and relieve the anxiety so she could
breath. My nieces & Dad were the only ones at home (my sisters had gone
last-minute Santa shopping) but my oldest niece had the presence to think to
call her other grandpa to come & get this grandma and take her to the
emergency room. So, they are having quite a crazy Christmas. Also, my
sister who lives in KC is going through a divorce & she & her 2 daughters
have been living with Mom & Dad since late Nov while they wait for the house
they are going to rent to come available. Mom's been transporting the
granddaughters to their "old" schools because they aren't changing schools
to the school district where they will be moving until after the holidays.
So, its keeping Mom hopping! Glad she didn't get sick until now.....just
wish she didn't have to get sick!
Hope you & John have a wonderful holiday!

Dot Baker called yesterday to let me know about Jewelle Hancock, a List
member, who has been seriously ill since September. Jewelle and Dot descend
from the SC Christmas branch - Jonathan1 - John2 - Absolum3 - Martha, who
married Jesse Hinton Baker.
Dot's has a crashed computer and asked me to write you about Jewelle, and
if time permits to drop her a card, as she is expected to be hospitalized
for some time. Jewelle's address is:
Latter Day Saints Hospital
ICU - Jewelle Hancock
8th Ave. & C Street

Hope each of you has a safe and happy Holiday Season, and the New Year
brings good tidings.

Welcome Carolyn I have always been interested in Doctoras Christmas.
In latin the word Dortoras means a teacher of theology. I have also studied
Thomas Kirby. It would be great to visit with a descendant of his.

Please welcome Carolyn to our list; below is some information she sent.

I have Dictoris William Christmas married to Isabelle, their daughter,
Mary, married Thomas Ray.
Thomas Ray and Mary Christmas had a daughter, Mary Ray who married Thomas
Kirby/Kerby. Thomas was born ca 1609 and died June 1668.
Other than the names of Dictoris and Mary, I have no other info on this
line. I would love to share what little I have with others researching the
Christmas line."
