Gayle:
As Helen suggested, getting in touch with Gem Nelson would be a very good thing to do. The Assoc. has lots of information. The spelling of the name by the emigrants from Pfungstadt was Croessman or Croessmann, with the umlaut. That name was changed into a variety of spellings. In my own case, the emigrant was Johann Georg (Jurg) Crosssman who arrived Phila in 1729 with his wife and 3 yr old son Johann Frederick. They arrived on the British ship, Mortonhouse. Frederick later changed the spelling to Crissman. One of his sons, Solomon, then changed it to Chrisman.
If you descend from one of the Pfungstadt Croessmans you must someday visit the Old Agustus Church in Trappe, PA, near Phila. It was built in 1743 and is wonderfully preserved. Our name along with 4-5 others is carved in stone over the door. It's spelled Crosman for some reason, maybe to save space. It's a great thrill to visit it as we did 3+ yrs ago. Johann Frederick was married there. Pull up the "Old Agustus Church" website. Good photos!
Good luck on your search. Hope you turn out to be one of our clan.

Hi, Gayle -
I think you need to get in touch with the Cressman Family Association.
Despite the spelling they are using today, their ancestors in Germany
were Crossman, with an umlaut over the "o". They came from a town called
Pfungstadt, not far from Darmstadt. The given names you have listed
sound lilke names from that family.
I am copying in Gem Nelson, an officer of that association. She can help
you with all the family connections.
