The Christman book (by Lena Kahrig Gattan) that I have is about the families
of two brothers that came over from Germany in the 1820-1830's. Their names
are George Jacob (b. 1799) and Ludwig B. Christman. They lived in Pittsburgh
from 1828 - 1832, and moved into the Monroe County, Ohio area. There was also a
nephew/cousin named Frederick Christman that came over. The 1850 census shows
their name spelled 'Crissman'. The book only covers George's family through son
Philip's line.
1. George Jacob Christman married Eva Ullman in Germany in 1825. Three sons
and a daughter married into the Pfalzgraf family from Alsace Lorraine region of
France.
