My wife's Christman ancestors migrated from Herkimer Co. NY "to Wisconsin" ca 1855/56. Exactly where in Wisconsin, we don't know. In 1859 they moved to Olmsted Co. (Rochester) MN. Her ancestor was Nicholas Van Slyk Christman, 2nd cousin to your Abraham. Their common ancestors were Jacob CHRISTMAN and Catherine GRAY.
We know absolutely nothing about WHERE in Wisconsin they stopped.

Subject: CHRISTMAN, CARPENTER, MILLER, MILNER, New York>Rock Co, Wis.
I have a group of CHRISTMANs from Clinton, Rock Co., Wisconsin that are some
how related to Abraham CHRISTMAN B. ABT. 1806, & his wife Betsy CARPENTER.
They are buried in the same block, in the lot next to my CHRISTMANS in
Clinton Cemetery.

Husband: Archie B. CHRISTMAN, b. Aug. 1835, N.Y., d. July 29, 1868 in
Clinton.
Wife: Elizabeth THICKSON, b. 1831-1833 England, d. Clinton, Rock Co., Wis.
Children:
Anna CHRISTMAN, b. abt. 1854 New York
Harvey CHRISTMAN, b. Oct. 1855 New York
David G. CHRISTMAN, b. April 1858, Maryland
Hester(aka Hettie) CHRISTMAN, b. abt. 1861 New York
Mace Cook CHRISTMAN(my late husbands grandfather) b. Sept. 6, 1863, possibly
Utica, Oneida Co., N.Y.
George H. CHRISTMAN, b. January 1866, Clinton, Wis.
I found Mace living with Harvey M. MILLER and his wife Mary Angeline MILNER
on the 1870 Clinton, Wis. census. The MILLERS are also buried in the same lot
as my CHRISTMANS.
I can't find the connection between my Christmans and the other families I
have been going thru the New York 1860 census for the last few months but
still have not found my Christmans. Any suggestions? I have not had much luck
with birth cert. in Wisconsin.
