Hi Everyone,
For those of you who are descended from Elisha Crisman, you may remember
a couple of months ago I told you that a story about one of his
descendants , which I wrote, would appear in a new book which is a
companion to the PBS series Ancestors. The story concerns Elisha's son
James, Sr and his house that he built in 1813. I just received my copy
of the book. It is titled IN SEARCH OF OUR ANCESTORS, 101 Inspiring
Stories of Serendipity and Connection in Rediscovering Our Family
History. (Whew). by Megan Smolenyak, copyright 2000. My contribution is
entitled "Dancing Ghosts". The book is officially out on 10 April, but
is already available on Amazon.com.
I hope you all will get it, as it does document a small part of our
history.

Hi, I am looking for info on a Catharina Christman, born late 1700's probably in NY. She married a Johann Wilhelm Dockstader by 1812, NY. Johann's family were part of the Palastine group that immigrated early 1700's. Their daughter Catharina was considered part-Mohawk . I would like to find Catharina Christman's family to prove or disprove this family history.
Any info, clues or suggestions welcomed!
