Mary Ella worked at the Newark House 1920 as a servant. It was an Almhouse/ Orphanage NJ. Sorry mama, wrong state. She also met her husband there Jacob. He was sent there by his brother Gus right before he inlisted in the Army infantry. He was at the battle of Gettysburg. As far as I can tell he married Whilelmina unkown last name. She did say on 1905 census her father was british and mother a native of new York. No documents on whether or not they had any children.
