Message Board Post:
Hi
Im having trouble finding any info about Cpt Christie (no 1st name) who lead a whaling ship to NZ. He had a brother (also Cpt Christie) on another ship in the area. The ships were called Ann and Harriet. The first Cpt was injured onboard and dropped off in Russel but later died in 1836. He had a son John on the ship who is mentioned in a letter. We believe the Cptns were called John and William. There is debate about the accuracy of the facts on the Russel headstone.
Any help or info deeply appreciated!!
