Hello I am very interested in the Cumming family of Braemar - my previous note was:
Hi I have lots on Charles Cumming and daughters,Elizabeth and Mary. I am puzzled why Elizabeth married a both servants in 1851Gardener when Charles was so well off. I think mary and Elizabeth were servants in 1851. Can you shed light on this? Also I am interested in Charles 's sister Jean who married John Emslie. Have you any more info on the family - I hope you are still around.
Also why did Elizabeth call herself Isabella in 1871? That's not even her middle name - or was it mistranscribed?
Bill

Hello there. I have a Elizabeth Charlotte Cumming married to a John Clark 2/27/1852 in Edinburgh....my great great grandparents. Elizabeth was from Braemar. She was born at a place called Alanaquoich in Cathie and braemar parish. Her father was Charles Cumming and the mother was Mary Catanach. To confuse matters more, I have John Clarks' mother as Helen Joss whose parents were William Joss and Helen Christie. Can you be of any help? Donna

Cathy, thats all the info I have, although he would most likely been at Cherry Point MAS or Ewa field in Hawaii. There are two tags on chain with a small key. If your mom has his discharge papers the would most likely have his serial # 539544 on them. If these are your dads give me an address and I will send

I was randomly searching my dads name & this info came up... could it really be his tags? My mother say this was the time when he was enlisted in the marine Corp. During WWII. Any new info would be appreciated! Thank you for your time.
