Am looking for information on Francis ("Francie") Christie, born ca1926; in the late 1930's, early 1940's he was living at the Hannah Block on Townsend St., Sydney, Nova Scotia. He may have worked for Dominion Coal & Steel in Sydney in the 1940's.
When my father was about 12, around 1941, Francie (who was about 15-16) saved his life. My father was swimming, got caught up in weeds, couldn't make it back up to the top, and was sinking to the bottom. Francie jumped in and pulled him out.
Now that my father is aging (79) he often thinks about this time and wonders if Francie might still be alive. He would be in his 80's today.
If Francie is no longer living, my father thought his family might be interested in knowing that Francie was a hero that day.
Any contact information would be greatly appreciated.
