Hello all,
I have recently subscribed to this list and thought I would post my Christie information. I haven't been able to get too far on this line but here is what I have:
DAVID CHRISTIE b. 1870's in Ireland married AGNES BELL b. 1877 in Ireland. I am not sure of the birth order or birthplaces of their children (ROSE, CASSIE, THOMAS, JAMES, BETTY, DAVID, WILLIAM, ANNIE) - some were born in Ireland before 1906 and some may have been born in Ontario after the family arrived in Canada. Son William (my grandfathr) was born in Rutherglen, Scotland in 1906.
Unconfirmed date of immigration to Canada is 1908. The family settled in SAULT STE. MARIE. DAVID CHRISTIE returned to Ireland a couple of years after his wife's death in 1924 and returned to Canada in 1929 with 2nd wife, ANNIE. They returned to Ireland around 1939 and he died about 1946 in BALLYCARRICKMADDY, CO. ANTRIM, ULSTER.
Rose married EDDIE CRAWFORD and lived in Windsor ONT
Cassie m. CYRIL BISHOP and lived in Sault Ste. Marie ONT.
Betty m. ? LANGDON and lived in Sault Ste. Marie ONT
Annie married HERBERT JACK and lived in Iowa or Ohio USA.
James and David lived in Sault Ste. Marie ONT
William and Thomas lived in Port Colborne ONT.
Would love to hear from any descendants or anyone who can assist with any further information or has any suggestions.

Subject: Posting Interests- CHRISTIE, SHERRET in Alexandria, Bonhill area
Good day everyone,
I would just like to post my Dunbartonshire interests.
I'm searching for the family of John CHRISTIE and his wife Ann(ie) SHERRET.
I know the couple had at least one child- a son also named John- who was
the informant for both of his parents' death registrations in 1939.
John and Ann lived at 50 Wilson Street in Alexandria at the time of their
deaths (6 months apart).
At the time of their marriage (1895 in Angus county), John was a sergeant
in the 22nd Battery of the Royal Field Artillery, and his usual residence
was Nasirblad, Bombay, India. At the time of his death, he was a retired
Commissionaire.
I do have information on parents for both John and Ann, but no information
currently on any children, including John the son.
If this rings any bells, or anyone can suggest anything, please feel free
to contact me!
