I recently purchased a posed studio photograph on a postcard - of "Violet Christiansen" from an antique dealer who buys collections in No. IL. I enjoy buying lovely old pictures like these in antique shops and locating descendants/family members so that I can re-unite the pictures, for only my costs, with people who will treasure them.
Violet looks to be about age 15-18 in the photo, it is my estimate that the picture was taken in the era of 1910-1920, when these postcard photos were popular. She is a beautiful young lady with dark hair and eyes, and she is holding a bouquet of flowers in one hand and a rolled certificate of some kind in the other hand. This just must be a graduation photo for placed around her neck is a satin sort of a mantle.
The picture is in excellent condition, and is typical postcard size. If you can relate to Violet Christiansen from this approximate time frame, please Email me directly at margerice(a)prodigy.net.
