My 3rd great grandmother, Permelia Christian, born about 1802 in Kentucky, married (1) Stephen Ashby in 1820 in Hopkins Co. He died in 1829, leaving four children: Malinda Ashby, Benjamin C. Ashby, Napoleon B. Ashby, and Daniel M. Ashby (my 2nd ggf). Permelia married (2) James Hall in 1834 in Hopkins Co. and had three children with him: Gilbert C., Jane, and Henry C.
Pamelia/Permelia Hall lived in Hopkins County and Barren County most of her life, but is in Logan County with a son in the 1880 census. I don't know when she died.
When did she die and who are her parents? If Gilbert Christian is her father, how is that proved / confirmed?

I just returned from a vacation to Biloxi, Mississippi. I visited the President Jefferson Davis, Presidential Library and his home. The library had a large selection of books on the Civil War and those who served the Confederacy. I had the librarian check both the official document (books) from Washington and the State of Virginia. I was unable to locate anything on Addison Christian being killed or having served in the Civil War.
I must confess that I don't put much faith in those books because I know of at least two other men that fought in the Civil War and are not listed in the formal books..

I don't know if this will be of any use for you but I thought I would let you know just in case. My Y-DNA results came back a few years ago and one of the closest matches was with a James M. Christian. In researching him I discovered that he was a descendant of George Daniel Christian, born 1782, Virginia and died in 1831, Wilcox, Alabama. George and Sarah Allen had a son named James Allen Christian. James was born in 1814, Huntsville, Alabama. James died in 1884, Clarke County Alabama. James had a brother Asa Christian. Asa married Martha Williams, had a daughter Ella B. Christian, Mare3ngo Alabama, who married a Davidson. Asa and Martha also had, John M. Christian, George P. Christian, Richard D. Christian, Emma B, Mary A. and Dorsey Christian.
Hope this helps a little.
