Thomas Christian, 1639-1704, was born in The Isle of Man and died in Goochland County VA. Check out Genealogy.com, family tree maker.
http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com. There is a 8 page genealogy of Thomas Christian with source material. Check ancestors of Melica Paulette Gallegly Buche.
In this article t refers to Eleanor Kewley as being the wife of Thomas Christian. Genealogies of Virginia Families, Volume 1, Christian Family, page 785.
I hve not heard of the name Corbin prior to this.

This is an old post so it may not be relevant anymre but Asa Moore and Elizabeth white were Rosanna Moore's parents, not Nanacy Goodridge. Other people have suggested that Nancy Goodridge was actually orphaned and possibly raised by indians for a time, I can't find any information that names her parents to dispute this.

I find a lot of people on the Internet claiming that Thomas Christian (I) of Charles City County married Eleanor Kewley, or ___ Corbin, or both. Can anyone, please, tell me how anyone might have concluded that he married either one (or both), i.e., that Kewley and/or Corbin were the maiden names of his wives?
Thanks
Lou Poole, Richardson, TX

I got another BETA DNA match pertaining to the Christian family. The match shows Louisa Christian and traces her back to Thomas Christian of Charles City VA. My DNA goes back to Thomas Christian of Tazewell, VA. Where we see the connection is that the first family is related through Moses Christian while my line is through his brother Mastin Christian, both going back to Thomas Christian. I was concerned at first that some of these matches could be based on coincidence where information is just taken from our family trees correct or not. But the first person is matched via BETADNA testing through Louisa Christian which I am not related to. First person shows Louisa Christian DNA traced back to Thomas Christian. We don't genetically meet for two or three generations back, which I believe gives more credibility to the connection.
My Thomas Christian is traced back to Tazewell, the other individual is traced back to Charles City, both have the same birth and death date, Unless the first individual became stuck in a rut at Thomas Christian and simply copied another persons family tree this would be another nail in the coffin for Tazewell being Thomas Christian's birthplace.
What is important to me is that the 2 generation separation gives the lines credibility. I will have to try and contact the match to see if I can determine why that person has Charles City rather than Tazewell.
My Christian matches are starting to dry up, we need more members of the Christian family to take the DNA test, but preferably the Y-DNA not the BETA.

No, I only have one Lucille Winship, the daughter of Harold Nicholas 1925-1988, and she married someone by the name of Plummer. Most of my direct line Winship's came from Boston, went to Wisconsin and then across to Montana and Washington state. However, when you look far enough, they are usually connected to Edward. Sorry I couldn't help you.
