This book can be found at Berks Co. Historical Society and others, at the Harrisburg Archives and the Phila. Library. I just stood there and copied every page for my family. I have not found it for sale anywhere.

Sorry for the delay in responding to your query. Can you tell me if you have Leetie Christian Winship in your tree? Or, her daughter Lucille Winship (who married Allen Lacy)?

Trying to find information about Elizabeth Christian, born around 1835, Ky., died 1911, Owsley, Ky. She was the daughter of Alfred Banks and Mary Christian. Elizabeth married William Abner Holcomb.
I discovered Elizabeth Christian while chicking LEAVES from Ancestry.Com on my late wife's family tree. I found it interesting that Elizabeth was apparently born out of wedlock to Mary Christian. I can not locate any information on Mary Christian and I would like to determine if she is related to the Tazewell Virginia Christians.

I have never seen Dr. George Christian's name listed with the middle name Daniel. Dr. George Christian did leave a will in which he mentions his son Charles H. Christian. It is in Will Book I, pp. 110-113, Wilcox Co. ALA. I'm afraid I can't find any information on any of your other questions. I don't know of any male Christian who has also had DNA testing.

Thank you for the information. Do you know of any MALE descendants of George Daniel Christian that may have taken theY-Chromosome DNA test. Had you ever heard of a Warren Gamaliel Christian, he passed away in 2011. The slave girl in question I believe can be found in the 1860 US slave censes or Slave Schedule.
Since you are descendant of George Daniel Christian do you have anything that can positively connect George with Charles Hunt Chrfistian, such as a birth or death certificate.
I only have knowledge of James Allen Christian havihng two children, Minerva Ann and Albert Bruce. My records show that James only owned two slaves while his brother Asa had around ten or more. Asa lived in Marengo, Alabama n 1850.
By 1860 he had 15. The 1860 Federal Census - Slave Schedules show that J. A. Christian, Western Dirvision, Marengo, Alabama had two slaves, a 60 year old female and a 14 year old female. My DNA match was born in Marengo County Alabama, around 1860 and died in 1962,New Iberia, Loluisiana.
I have a copy of the Will of Charles Christian, George's father. In the will he leaves to his son George Christian the land he is living on, one Negro Woman, named SUCK and one Negro Girl named HANNA. So everything does kind of tie in.
Do you by any chance have any Christian relatives in Buckingham County Virginia. Amherst, Virginia, all I hvae is an initial, P. H. Christian.
My most perplexing search thoough is for a Robert Lee Christian, he is a third generation match which is pretty close. I can find nothing on this man yet he is a 3rd generation or related within 75 years of me.
Another Christian that would help make the connection between the Georgia, Alabama, and Tazewell Christians is a William Christian born around 1608 and died in 1663 it appears he was born in the Isle of Man but died in Virginia.T
I know this is a lot of information but I do hope you can help me in some way.
God Bless
Ken Simpson

I'm a descendant of George Christian and his first wife Martha Walton. I checked what I have on the Christian family and couldn't find a reference to James Allen's children with the slave girl. Sadly, those children weren't acknowledged in wills, etc. What awful situations slavery produced. Good luck with your search, and I will let you know if I find out anything else.

Thanks for responding. I was checking some of the oldest messages on the Christian Forum and located some messages posted in 1999 pertaining to Asa Christian. I tried to E-mail them but they came back as no longer good addresses.
In 2010 I took the Y-46 Chromosome-DNA test (Paternal). I was informed that my last name should have been Christian not Simpson since in 1850 Elizabeth Christian then around 14 apparently had an affair with Addison "Attie" Bailey Christian of Tazewell Virginia. The male DNA comes back to his family. However all of my matches also come back to the Charles City Virginia Christians.
When I checked the list of DNA matches given to me by Ancestry.Com the formost match a number one generation came back to a Jason Medlock Christian. I made contact with Jason and discovered that he is an Africian American while I am a White man. Jason is the descendant of James Allen Christian who was the brother of Asa Christian. Asa and James were the sons of George Daniel Christian and Sarah "Sallie" Allen. George was the son of Charles Hunt Christian and Judith Woodson of Goochland, Charles City Virginia. George was married three times, first to Martha "Patty" Walton of Franklin County Georgia, then to Sarah "Sallie" Allen of Franklin County Georgia and third to Lucy Patterson Moore, Madison County.
In talking with the DNA match it was discovered that apparently James Allen Christian had a 14 or 15 year old slave girl that he cared for deeply and James Allen Christian my # 1 match is his descendant with the slave girl thus he carries the same Y-DNA as the Christian family and my DNA.
I have other matches that connect me with the Charles City Christians, Goochland Christians etc. I have a second close match that is also I believe a descendant of the Christian family via relations between male Christians and female slaves.
I have a known cousin that is related by both DNA to me and the Tazewell Christians through Thomas Bailey Christian and through marriage since his great, grandfather married my great aunt.
My problem is that I would like to have secondary matches that connect the families, I really don't want to rely on just a few matches spread out over the South. I would like to contact someone other than myself that is familiar with the story of James Allen Christian to help verify the accuracy of the findings.

Through DNA research I have connected the Christian family of Charles City Virginia to the Christians of Alabama and Georgia. Would like to communicate with any one related to this family. I realize this message is close to 13 years old but I was curious as to weather or not it was still a good thread. I discovered through DNA testing that I am related to the Christian and one of my closest matches is a James Allen Christian who may have been the offspring of either Asa Richard or Asa's brother James Allen, both children of George Daniel Christian.
Please cosntact me if this is the same Christian family.

This will is very interesting but actually aids in the confusion of everything CHRISTIAN. Moses Christian, 1795-1855 was the brother of Mastin Christian, 1799-1854. Moses left property at his death to his son Mastin, he also had a son by the name of Thomas Christian. It is very easy to get all the Mastin and all the Thomas's confused. The important thing here to keep in mind is that My great, great, grandfather Addison Bailey (Attie) Christian, was the son of Thomas Harman Christian and Jane McKenster. Mastin Harman Christian was the son of Thomas Bailey "Cornstalk Christian" (TBC). All male children of TBC would carry the same Y-DNA as I carry. TBC had two wives that are of particular importance, Louisa Harman, 1776-1829, and Mary Polly C. Altizer, 1810-1894. These two wives gave TBC 10 sons that we are aware of. All of those sons would carry the same DNA as TBC and would pass it down to their male children.
This is important because of the male children, two lines were created, Moses Christian and Mastin Christian, both sons of TBC. Male Y-DNA-46 Marker Chromosome testing has connected these two families back to TBC, myself through Addison Attie Bailey Christian and a 5th cousin through Moses Christian. Futhermore DNA testing has shown that TBC was descended from the Charles City Christians and not Elinipsico Cornstalk. There is no Native American DNA in my male line. There is a possibility that there is NA DNA in the maternal or female lines of the Christian family.
What the Will of Moses Christian shows us is how wide spread the use of the same names such as Mastin, & Thomas were.
Of particular curisoty to me though is what happened between Moses Christian and his daughter Shome, that he would only leave her one dollor and that to be paid at the death of her mother? The use of the term "and not one cent more" is rather harsh for a father to say in his last will and testament to a child of his.
Now that everyone is taking the BETA DNA test rather than the paternal Y or maternal Mitochondra DNA tests matches are not coming in. BETA matches are almost exclusively maternal and distant. It appears that finding out ones ethnicity is taking center stage.
I believe I still have sufficient close DNA matches to show that TBC was not Native American and that most likely All the Christians of Virginia originated in or around Charles City and spread west and south from there.

HI, thanks for the info. Only problem is that Hezekiah Whitt was 17 years old when he was taken in by Thomas Mastin. Thomas Mastin could not have raised him since at 17 you are (parden my english) pretty much RAISED. Thomas Bailey Christian was supposedly taken in at 7. Hezekiah could not have been raised from childhood unless you consider 17 a child.

Since there are so many Christian posts to go through (971), I decided to create my own.
does anyone have any info on the above? John J. was born in MI but the family moved to SD when he was young and Mary in Aberdeen SD. They got married in Aberdeen, also.
In the very early 1900's, they moved to Roundup, Musselshell, MT. I do have the names/dates of their children and some death/cemetery info.
Mary would have been my Great Grand Aunt.
Just wondering if there are any relatives out there.
Thanks.

As far as the Cornstalk Orphans - we are 100% sure that Cornstalk was married (to numerous wives) and we are 100% sure that he had numerous children. We do not have any written or DNA evidence for ANY of his offspring - yet we are 100% sure they existed. And it is highly likely that they have descendants today. I feel like I have just begun trying to find his descendants.
Everything I have found about Cornstalk I have put up at his WeRelate.org page.
